COMPUTER SETUP

Install the free video tools

Your computer needs FFmpeg and yt-dlp before it can run an exported project. Install each tool once, then use Build The Guide for future projects.

VIDEO PROCESSING

FFmpeg

Cuts individual clips, converts them to a compatible format, and combines them into the final MP4.

SOURCE DOWNLOAD

yt-dlp

Downloads the source video to the user's computer so FFmpeg can create the selected clips.

Already installed? Open Terminal or PowerShell and run ffmpeg -version and yt-dlp --version. If both display version numbers, the computer is ready.

How it works

Add each YouTube link, start time, duration, and title.
Export the project for Mac or Windows.
Install FFmpeg and yt-dlp once on that computer.
Run the exported script to create each clip and the final merged MP4.
